Who would’ve imagined that our journey to Akshardham would have a sequel nearly a decade later? Back in 2016, we visited the magnificent Akshardham Temple in New Delhi, India—a moment that stayed with us all these years. The architecture, the serenity, the intricate carvings… everything left such a lasting impression. It was one of those places that make you pause, breathe, and just take in the beauty of the world.
Fast forward to 2025, and here we are, standing once again before another Akshardham—this time in New Jersey, USA. And the best part? We’re not alone. We have our kids with us, making this experience richer, louder, funnier, and far more meaningful than the first.
The temple in New Jersey carries the same magic, the same breathtaking artistry. From the moment we approached the entrance, it felt like stepping into a blend of ancient culture and modern craftsmanship. The detailed carvings on the pillars and the lifelike sculptures tell a story with every curve and shadow. The statue captured in the photo felt almost alive—calm, graceful, and welcoming. Even in black and white, you can feel the depth, the texture, the emotion carved into the stone.
The kids, of course, turned the trip into a full-on adventure. They asked questions nonstop—“How did they carve that?” “Why is the design like that?” “Is this from the same temple in India?”—and honestly, their curiosity made our hearts full. Watching them admire the artwork, climb steps with excitement, and marvel at the sheer size of the temple made us realize how special this moment was. It wasn’t just a sightseeing trip; it was a cultural bridge between our past and their future.
Walking around the temple grounds, I couldn’t help but feel this beautiful sense of continuity. In 2016, we were just two people exploring a place that fascinated us. In 2025, we came back as a family—older, maybe wiser, definitely busier—but still carrying the same sense of wonder. Revisiting Akshardham reminded us how much life can change in nine years, yet how some places still feel like home.
This second chapter of our Akshardham story felt like unlocking a memory, renewing our appreciation for art, spirituality, and the simple joy of discovering something extraordinary. Sharing this with our kids made everything more alive—more colorful, even though the photo is in black and white.
Here’s to unforgettable sequels, to the places that stay beautiful no matter how many years pass, and to making memories that connect our past to our present. This trip wasn’t just about revisiting a temple—it was about realizing how far we’ve come and how blessed we are to experience it all together.
